A series of the Samara Region investment potential presentations were held in Europe
On October, 3 the meeting of the Samara Region delegation and Dutch businessmen took place in Russian Trade Representation in Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Deputy Executive Director Alexander Tokar introduced the participants to the economic and investment potential of the Samara Region and to the most perspective investment projects. The Director of Economics and Finance of the company “Promparki” (Samara Region) Stanislav Remizov told the Dutch businessmen about such investment sites as industrial parks “Preobrazhenka” and “Chapayevsk”. Among the participants of the meeting the greatest response was from the representatives of the Dutch dairy farming industry concerning technological support of the initiators of the Samara Region investment projects. Besides there was noted potential cooperation in the sphere of high technologies in building greenhouse facilities. After the presentation part of the conference there were held a series of bilateral meetings with local companies interested in developing and localizing their business on the territory of the Samara Region.
On October, 5 in Munich (Germany) there was held a meeting of the Russian-Bavarian working group on economic cooperation assistance. It was headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Gruzdev and the Deputy Prime-Minister of Bavaria, the Minister of Economics, Communications, Power Engineering and Technologies of Bavaria Ilse Aigner. Among the participants of the meeting were representatives of the line ministries of the Bavarian Government responsible for choosing the most perspective areas of cooperation with the regions of the Russian Federation and the representatives of the key business associations. It was the first meeting devoted to the acquaintance of Bavarian representatives with the investment potentials of the Russian Federation regions including the Samara Region. As the key investment proposals our region presented possibilities of an automobile cluster and autocomponents production, space and agriculture clusters.
On October, 6 in Neuchatel (Switzerland) there was held a conference “Doing Business in Russia: Entering the Russian market – shift from export to local production”. The aim of the conference was to present the development thrust of business on the territory of the Russian Federation and in some regions in particular for the companies of the Swiss Confederation. During the conference reports were made by Tadzio Schilling, Associate Director Business Development of the company “Ernst & Young”, who provided the participants with the current economic status and the investment opportunities of the Russian Federation in general, and Daniel Schmid, CEO of the “Fischer” company who told the participants about successful experience of implementing Fischer Spindle Group joint venture with the Russian partner in Novosibirsk. Alexander Tokar and Stanislav Remizov, in turn, introduced the audience to the investment opportunities in the Samara Region and presented the regional investment infrastructure. In conclusion of the conference there was held a panel discussion during which the development cooperation of the Swiss companies representing small and medium-sized business with the businessmen of the Samara Region.
As the Deputy Executive Director of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Samara Region Alexander Tokar has noted, the series of these presentations, meetings and negotiations were very productive. “In the Netherland, in Germany and in Switzerland we have met interest from local businessmen to cooperation with the Samara Region. What is important – participants of the meetings from the European party recognize that these meeting increase the knowledge and the awareness of business opportunities and development of their productions in our region including export opportunities. The European companies show the readiness to follow successful experience of localization in Russia of such enterprises as Bosch, Fischer and other organizations which have become in recent years active participants of investment activities. The Investment Promotion Agency of the Samara Region is going to establish further cooperation with the European business community and to maintain high investment attractiveness of our region.
