From October 29 to November 5, 2016, trade and economic mission of the Samara Region to the regions of the upper and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River of the People’s Republic of China and the presentation of the economic potential of the Samara Region took place in Beijing
From October 29 to November 5, the delegation of the Samara Region, headed by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Technology of the Samara Region S.A. Bezrukov visited China. The delegation consisted of representatives of 14 organizations of the Samara Region, including the region’s leading universities, large enterprises of aviation, automotive industry, transport and logistics sector, representatives of food industry and others.
One of the key events in the framework of the event in China on October 31 was the presentation of economic and investment potential of our region on the basis of the Russian Trade Representation in China in Beijing, in which the Chinese partners were given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the key investment projects of the region and to conduct B2B talks with representatives of Samara companies. The presentation of the Samara Region was visited by more than 50 Chinese companies.
Also, a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to China Denisov Andrei Ivanovich was held in Beijing, during which the representatives of the Samara Region received information on the state of current cooperation with China and enlisted the support of the competent bodies in the implementation of the outlined plans to expand cooperation with China.
In the period from November 1 to November 4, the delegation of the Samara Region visited strategic partners of our region in China – the regions of the upper and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River – the city of Chongqing and the province of Sichuan.
Within the framework of the visit program to Chongqing, the Samara delegation was given the opportunity to present the potential of the Samara Region and to offer the Chinese partners some specific projects for joint implementation.
The implementation of the agreement with the Government of the Samara Region, signed in 2014, was discussed with the Vice-Governor Mr. Liu Guypig and representatives of the People’s Government of Chongqing, and specific steps to further development of multifaceted cooperation were outlined. Confirming the high interest in intensifying the bilateral cooperation, Mr. Liu Guypig expressed his desire to visit our region as part of the extended delegation of business circles of Chongqing in the first half of 2017.
Representatives of the Samara delegation visited Chongqing University of Railways, high-tech enterprises of Jianchao industrial park, Changan Autoworks, the company operating in the field of E-commerce trade Chongqing OConnect Cross-Border E-Commerce Co., Ltd and other facilities.
As part of the visit of the Samara Region, official and business meetings, presentation of our region potential, as well as projects in Samara and Chinese companies were held by the delegation to Sichuan province capital.
During the official meeting with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Technology of the Samara Region S.A. Bezrukov and Vice-governor of Sichuan Province Mr. Zhu Hesin, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in trade-economic, scientific-technical and socio-cultural spheres was signed.
In addition, representatives of the delegation of the Samara Region took part in the 16th International Exhibition of Western China, in which S.A. Bezrukov demonstrated the economic and investment potential of the Samara Region to Sichuan companies and foreign guests of the exhibition, forming high-quality conditions for effective partnership.
Representatives of the delegation visited the corporation Donfang Electric Co., Ltd (production of water turbines, large capacity steam generators), food industry facilities and the province’s leading universities.
During his visit to universities, Rector of the Samara State University of Railways D.V. Zheleznov and the heads of the Southwest Transport University signed an agreement on cooperation in science and education.
