Results of social and economic development of the Samara region for 2017 under the section "Foreign Economic Activity"

The first half of 2017 witnessed a growth of external trade by almost 12% vs. the similar period of 2016, the volume of export growing by 109%, and the volume of import by 117%.

The dynamics of external trade in 2014-2017 (1 half-year) is given below (K USD):

The share of the foreign trade turnover of the Samara Region within that of the Volga Federal District for the first half of 2017 was 13.2%.

The surplus of the trade balance of the Samara Region is positive.

As compared with the first half of 2016, the similar period of 2017 witnessed a growth of goods turnover between the Samara Region and countries of the far abroad by 14.3% and by approx. 8% with CIS countries.

117 countries were trade partners of the Samara Region in the first half of 2017, the countries of the far abroad prevailing with a share of 75%, including 68% in export and 89.6% in import.

Export

Following the data of the Analytical portal of the Russian Export Center (http://regionstat.exportcenter.ru) in January-May of 2017 the Samara Region ranked 19 among the regions of the country in export volumes; 45.89% was accounted for by non-resource non-energy export and 51,41% by non-resource non-energy export, including 13.68% of downstream operations, 21.27% of midstream operations, and 16.46% of upstream operations.

The goods structure of exports has mineral raw stock and chemical products prevailing.

The largest trade partners in export are as follows (total of 103 countries): Ukraine (16.1%), Latvia (14%), Mongolia (8.9%), Belarus (7.3%), Netherlands (6.7%), Kazakhstan (6.1%), China (4.4%), Poland (3.6%), Germany (3%), Turkey (2.9%)

The main imported products are industrial equipment, electrical machines and equipment required for the implementation of investment projects on the territory of the region.

The main import partners of the Samara Region in the first half of 2017 were as follows: Romania (20%), Germany (18.4%), China (9.7%), France (5.9%), Belarus (4%), Turkey (3.9%).
